"Wow, that is still pretty good!"

I remembered this one picture I drew once upon a time of a girl and boy, the boy kissing the girl's hand and the girl looking distressed. I posted it on DA a lo~ng time ago, recent watchers won't know what I'm talking about, but those who've watched me since the beginning of time may possibly remember it. I really wanted to see the picture, so I started searching for it, but then remembered I had thrown it away because I thought it was terrible. But since I scanned it, and I haven't cleared out my scanner history in ages, I was able to check there and find it. Along the way, I found other old arts of mine that are long gone but I'm thinking, "Dang, I really drew that? Awesome!"

I have low pride in my art. Ask anybody who knows me, they can vouch for me. It's because I know I can be better, and I'm not satisfied until I can look at my art and wonder how was I able to do this. I dunno when that day will come, if it ever does, so when I'm able to look back at my art from 2006, 2005, even 2004, and can say to myself that I actually did a good job on it, I feel very proud of myself. Sure, if you look at the art, one will see anatomical errors, sloppy lines, all sorts of beginner mistakes (that I know I still suffer from), but I can see what I was aiming for, and if I can see that, then I think I did a good job.

Just for fun and for something to do in my spare time, I'm planning on redrawing a lot of the old art. Do another 'Before and After' type of thing that I did with this picture: [link] :I had fun with that. Probably most, if not all, of the drawings I plan on redoing have been posted on DA a long time ago, so old watchers may recognize a them. Those that I can't redraw, maybe I'll post it as a collage of how far I've progressed over the years. That's fun also.

Ah, look how long this got. I doubt anybody is reading this, but for those of you who managed to get through it all let's talk!

Have you ever looked back on your old art that you once thought was terrible and now thought how good it actually is, or have you ever remembered some old art of yours and remembered having thrown it away and regret doing that? Or, DO you throw away old art?
